Ella Ion - Liminal Archive EP

Liminal Archive EP is a collection of songs mostly recorded in Naarm at Yorke Street Recorders and Sydney Road Studios, produced by Stefan Blair and Ella Ion.

This EP release is a real closing of a chapter for Ella, one that took her to stages across the world. Having just wrapped the creation of her sophomore album and fresh from a standout run of performances in the United States, including multiple showcases atSXSW, this EP provides a real moment of reflection before the whirlwind of the next era begins in earnestElla's time in Texas saw her bring her emotionally resonant, folk-inspired sound to international audiences, earning praise from Rolling Stone, who noted, “Indie artist Ella Ion enchants the crowd with catchy folk-inspired music.” Her balance of raw vulnerability with melodic precision has become a defining feature of her work. Ella's ability to trace the contours of old wounds with poetic lyricism is an exercise in cutting the listener straight to the bone.

2025 marked a period of major growth for Ella after taking home two South Australian Music Awards fuelled by the tracks that will make up the Liminal Archive EP. All tracks received widespread airplay across triple j, Triple R, PBS, 4ZZZ, Radio Adelaide, Edge Radio and beyond, as well as being added to over a dozen Spotify editorial playlists each and featured in Frankie MagazineThe Music and Rolling Stone among others.

Artist Profile

Shelf Lives

Fueled by glitchy beats, razor-sharp guitars, and a no-fucks-given energy, the Shelf Lives mission is simple: if you’re listening, you’re going to feel something.

Since their explosive arrival, Shelf Lives (Sabrina Di Giulio (vocals) and Jonny Hillyard (guitarist/producer)) have scorched stages at Glastonbury, Boomtown, Kendal Calling, TGE, SXSW, New Colossus, 2000 Trees, Y Not, and Green Man (headlining the Rising Stage), while touring alongside Skunk Anansie, Lambrini Girls, Sprints, Panic Shack, Jehnny Beth, The Kills, Lynks, and more.

Championed by BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and BBC Introducing, the band have also been featured in NME, Clash, DIY, Dork, Kerrang!, The Line of Best Fit, and UPSET.

Following their sold-out headline show at MOTH Club and the acclaimed No Idea EP, Shelf Lives return louder, bolder, and more unapologetic than ever. The band were also recently awarded the PRS Foundation’s highly competitive PPL Momentum funding — a huge achievement given the sheer number of incredible musicians vying for it, making their selection a true testament to their talent and vision.
With the release of their debut album ‘hypernormaL’ , Shelf Lives are stepping boldly into their next era — and they’re not looking back.
