Boo Seeka – Cigarettes On Sundown

After more than a decade of carving out one of Australia’s most distinctive voices in alternative electronic music, Boo Seeka returns with his most personal and expansive project to date — Cigarettes On Sundown. 

Built across long days on the road, late nights in studios, and quiet moments away from the noise, the album captures the feeling of exhale. The title itself reflects the emotional centre of the record: the strange beauty that exists when the day is finally over — when the chaos settles, the sun drops, and reflection takes over. Warm, nostalgic, euphoric, melancholic, and deeply human, Cigarettes On Sundown feels less like a traditional album and more like an entire world built around memory, ritual, food, friendship, and music. 

Now, for the first time in the project’s history, Boo Seeka enters a completely independent era. Entirely self-funded and creatively self-directed, Cigarettes On Sundown represents total artistic freedom. No outside timelines. No label-driven compromises. Just instinct, experimentation, and a desire to create something immersive and lasting. Produced alongside longtime collaborator Xavier Dunn, the album leans into warm organic textures, psychedelic indie-electronic production, acoustic songwriting, and sun-soaked nostalgia. Across the project, moments of euphoria sit beside vulnerability, while themes of escapism, connection, burnout, growth, and reflection drift through the record like fading daylight. 

But Cigarettes On Sundown extends far beyond music. 

Running parallel to the album is the continued growth of Food Seeka — Ben’s rapidly expanding food and culture platform — which becomes deeply intertwined with the creative rollout. Every song on the album is paired with its own bespoke recipe, forming part of a vinyl and cookbook release that blurs the line between album campaign, lifestyle project, and visual art piece. Inspired as much by shared meals and travel as by music itself, the rollout combines cinematic live performances, recipe films, intimate theatre recordings, documentary-style content, and daily short-form storytelling designed to build genuine audience connection beyond traditional music marketing.

Rather than chasing fleeting trends, Boo Seeka’s new era focuses on world-building — creating something tactile, personal, and immersive in an increasingly disconnected digital landscape.
