CLEWS - What's Not To Love?

‘What’s Not To Love’? is an offering of joy, only sometimes adulterated by heartache and uncertainty. The songs stare our biggest life moments in the face - falling in love, trepidations  about getting older, the last few years of being young women in the music industry, the years ahead of settling down and starting a family and still feeling like we need time to discover ourselves. The songs chart Lily’s fall into love, Grace’s mid-twenties independence, and both of us strengthening our bond as sisters. They wrote, recorded and released this album over the course of a year, and the world around them had become more and more steeped in changes they once would have considered absurd.

American politics loom large over the culture, social media and AI shapeshift through the music industry, microtrends blur past with breakneck, algorithmic speed while the news cycle feels so terrible we don’t even know where to look. Amidst it all, Grace and Lily have noticed in themselves the conflict that many artists are feeling around how to put beautiful art out into a noisy world. Somewhere along the path to making this album, they decided to double-down on how they were raised: that they're all holding hands and climbing, when life gets tough they love harder.
